Getting started

What is CollegeVerge?

A single place to decide where to apply, track every deadline, and communicate with admissions offices and coaches. It works alongside your counselor, MaiaLearning, and the Common App rather than replacing them.

How do I build my first school list?

Finish the short onboarding wizard and CollegeVerge generates a starter list for you. From there, add or remove schools anytime in Explore. Full walkthrough in Getting started.

Can I change my answers after onboarding?

Yes. Update your academics, preferences, and athlete details anytime in Settings, and your fit scores recalculate.

Schools and fit

What do Likely, Target, Reach, and Far reach mean?

They are student relative: each badge reads your academics against both a school's admitted profile and how selective the school is, running from Likely (at or above) to Far reach (a long shot). The same school can be a Target for one applicant and a Far reach for another. See Understanding fit for the full breakdown, or the Dashboard guide for the badge table and how to balance your list.

How many schools can I track?

5 on Free, 12 on Standard, and 25 on Premium. Details in the Explore guide and on the Plans page.

A school I want is not showing a deadline. Why?

We show deadlines we have on file. If a school has not published its dates yet, it appears once they are available.

Plans and billing

What is the difference between the plans?

Free covers a first pass at your list and core research. Standard adds outreach templates, touchpoint tracking, the communication package, resume PDF, and parent portal. Premium adds AI essay feedback, AI interest letters, the athletics directory, and the NCAA tracker. Current pricing is always on the Plans page.

How do I upgrade, downgrade, or cancel?

Open Settings and use Manage billing, or visit the Plans page. Upgrades apply immediately. If you cancel, you keep access through the end of your current period.

Will I lose my data if I downgrade?

No. Your profile and schools stay. If you drop below your current school count, you keep your schools but cannot add new ones until you are under the new limit.

Privacy and parents

I am under 18. Can I use CollegeVerge?

Yes, if you are 13 or older. We ask for a parent or guardian email during onboarding and send them an approval. You can build your profile and list right away. Sending emails and sharing your package unlock once a parent approves.

How do I add a parent to my account?

Invite them from the Family section in Settings. They get a read only view and a weekly digest once they confirm.

Can my parent edit my work?

No. Parent access is read only. They can see your progress, not change it. For a full tour of what they see, point them to For parents.

Email and outreach

How do I email a school or coach?

Use Templates. Pick a category and a school, and the message fills in your details. You can also send a full introduction with the Package.

Do my emails get tracked automatically?

Yes. Anything you send from Templates or the Package is logged as a touchpoint, which powers your demonstrated interest tracking in Touchpoints.

Athletes

Where are coach contacts?

In Athletics, a Premium feature. The default view covers schools on your list; switch to All schools to browse coach contacts anywhere. Set your sport in Settings so the directory filters correctly.

A school on my list has no coaches listed. Why?

If the school sponsors your sport, you still see the program confirmed with its division, roster size, and season, drawn from federal athletics data. A named coach contact is the editorial layer we are still building out, so a verified email or phone appears as we add it. See the Athletics guide for what each program record shows.

Troubleshooting

My fit scores look wrong.

They are only as accurate as your profile, and they are student relative, so a school reads against your own academics rather than a fixed cutoff. Check your GPA, test scores, and course counts in Settings and save, and fit recalculates. For how the badge is built, see Understanding fit.

Sending is paused on my account.

If you are under 18, sending stays paused until a parent approves your account. Check your parent approval status in Settings.
